Ramon Canet (Palma, 1950)

Ramon Canet was born in Palma in 1950. He carried out his artistic training at the Superior School of Fine Arts of Sant Jordi, in Barcelona, ​​where he graduated in 1974. A year before he made his first solo exhibition in Mallorca. When it finishes its formation returns to the island where it establishes his first study, and begins to participate in collective exhibitions and to exert of professor until 1977, year in which it leaves the teaching to dedicate itself completely to his work. From that moment, begins to exhibit in galleries and spaces such as Sala Pelaires, Quadre Gats, Palau Solleric or Pleta Freda, among others. In 1980 he returned to Barcelona, ​​and two years later he moved to Palma, where he founded "Edicions 6à Obra Gràfica" together with artists such as María Carbonero and Menéndez Rojas. Throughout his career he participates continuously in ARCO and in projects of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Madrid, as well as in art fairs and galleries in Hamburg, Stockholm, Berlin or Frankfurt, among others. In 1991, he participated in Tokyo Art Expo with Sala Pelaires, the same year that he was named academic number at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Sebastian. In 1996 he participated in the "Ten of the Best" program in Indonesia, exhibiting individually in Jakarta. His national and international career demonstrate the quality of his work, reaching numerous private and public collections, thus creating an important name within the world of abstract art.
