Castellanas, Josep
Josep Castellanas Garrich(Barcelona 1896 - Majorca 1980)
Born in Barcelona in 1896, in 1919 he moved to Mallorca following in the footsteps of Santiago Rusiñol, with whom he had previously exhibited in his native city. During his life he returned to live in Barcelona, but he also had a long period in Mexico. After the Spanish Civil War, he returned to the island to stay permanently, first in Deià and later in Sóller, places from which he extracted numerous themes that he reflected in his work, the same one that evidences his sensitive vision of reality. Finally, he died in Majorca in 1980.
